MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TO APPLY:

  • Must be 18 years of age to apply for any entry-level position.

  • Must have a high school diploma or state-issued GED. Must be a U.S. citizen to apply for Deputy Sheriff I, Corrections and any certified officer positions.

  • Must have a valid driver's license.

  • Must not have been convicted of a DUI within the last 3 Years for DS1 or Civilian, last 5 years for DSII/SRO/Certified Peace Officer.

  • No illegal sale, distribution, manufacturing, or distribution of any drug.

  • No outstanding criminal charges.

  • No family violence convictions.

  • No felony convictions.

  • If you have prior military service, any dishonorable discharge from any branch of the U. S. military or any discharge that makes an applicant ineligible for re-enlistment makes you ineligible to apply.

IF YOU WISH TO APPLY FOR DEPUTY SHERIFF II OR THE SCHOOL RESOURCE OFFICER POSITIONS, YOU MUST HAVE A BASIC PEACE OFFICER CERTIFICATION SO YOU CAN CARRY A WEAPON. ADDITIONALLY, THE SCHOOL RESOURCE OFFICER POSITION REQUIRES AT LEAST 3 YEARS OF LAW ENFORCEMENT EXPERIENCE.
