JAIL
Deputy Sheriffs in the Forsyth County Jail are responsible for enforcing all correctional institution rules and regulations, maintaining inmate discipline, and maintaining a secure and peaceful environment within the jail. On a continuous basis jail Deputies supervises, observe, and monitor inmate activities, perform searches, process inmates, and much more.

DEPUTY SHERIFF
Mandated Deputy Sheriffs at the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office enforce all local and state codes, ordinances, laws and regulations, both traffic and criminal, in order to protect life and property, to promote security, and to maintain law and order. There is are limitless ways that Deputy Sheriff’s serve to help protect our citizens and their property.
Deputies continually work to prevent commission of crime, apprehend, arrest, and process criminals. They respond to service calls consistently and quickly to aid when help is needed. Deputies are responsible for enforcing traffic laws and writing citations. They secure crime scenes, conduct preliminary investigations, interviews and takes statements as well as gather information and evidence. Deputies additionally aid in serving warrants and other legal documents. They are also first responders for vehicle accidents, weather incidents, and medical emergencies, and will need to administer first aid and CPR as necessary.
Forsyth County Deputy Sheriffs work with the community to build relationships and educate the public. Having a good rapport with the community is essential as a Deputy Sheriff, and the outstanding Forsyth County community makes that easy. SPECIALIZED UNITS
The Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office has many specialized units throughout the agency that are highly trained and specially equipped to deal with unique law enforcement situations; including Criminal Investigations, Drug Task Force, S.W.A.T. Negotiations, Traffic Enforcement, K-9, Marine, Training, Motorcycle, and much more. Each of these units play a very important part in the agency and accomplishing its mission of keeping the community safe. SCHOOL RESOURCE
Forsyth County is the home to the sixth largest school district in Georgia with top rated schools throughout the county that accommodate our nearly 48,000 students in 40 public school campuses. SROs are the first line of defense in our schools and play a unique role upholding order, promoting safety, preventing crime, and mentoring. Deputies assigned to the SRO program provide direct service to our schools which includes campus safety inspections, classroom presentations, school investigations, student and parent conferences, along with a variety of other activities including the traditional law enforcement duties.
